Shaker football team has won last 3 games by a combined 138-0

Shaker completed its third straight shutout, coasting to a 40-0 win over visiting Bethlehem on Friday in a Class AA playoff football game in Latham. The Blue Bison rolled out to a 33-0 halftime lead on the way to moving to 5-0 on the season. Shaker will host CBA next week, which advanced automatica­lly after Colonie went on pause for COVID -19.

More football: Shenendeho­wa moved to 4-1 on the year with a convincing 42-8 win over Schenectad­y in a Class AA playoff game in Clifton Park. The Plainsmen built a 35-0 halftime lead behind two touchdown receptions by Dyvante Terrelonge. Shenendeho­wa advances to play Guilderlan­d next Friday in the semifinals, rematch of the 2019 AA Super Bowl. The Dutchmen received a bye after Saratoga entered a COVID pause . ... Caeden Lapietro scored on a quarterbac­k sneak late to help Burnt Hills get past visiting CBA, 28-20, in a nonleague game. The Spartans kept their perfect record intact and moved to 5-0 with the victory . ... Troy raced out to a 43-7 halftime lead and cruised past Albany, 58-14, in a Class A contest . ... Hudson won its third straight game, topping visiting Lansingbur­gh, 35-13, in a Class B clash. Isaiah Maines rushed for a touchdown, hauled in a touchdown pass and even threw a TD pass to lead the Blue Hawks offense. Kasey Moore also caught two touchdowns for Hudson, which improved to 3-1.

Boys’ soccer: Dom Pontore headed in his first varsity goal in the first half to stake Waterford to a one goal lead, but Rocco Dicarlo scored in the second half as the Fordians played to a 1-1 tie with Tamarac . ... Lens Lima had another hat trick to lead Mekeel Christian to an 11-0 win over Heatly. Lima now has 96 career goals.

Girls’ soccer: Abby Buckley had a goal and an assist as Tamarac beat Hoosic Valley 2-1 in Wasaren League action. Jenna Hunt made two saves for the Bengals. Katelyn Chamberlai­n scored for Hoosic Valley.

Girls’ volleyball: Mechanicvi­lle topped Emma Willard 25-17, 25-18, 25-19 behind Hallie Phelps who had seven kills and 12 service points. Bella Fuschino added seven assists and six service points in the win. Juliette Syta had five kills for the Jaspers . ... Catherine Darcy had six service points, two aces, two kills and four kills to spark Saratoga Catholic to a 25-15, 25-9, 25-22 win over Cambridge . ... Ichabod Crane climbed to 8-2 with a 3-0 sweep of Cohoes. Sophomore Delaney More had eight aces, three kills and 10 assists for the Riders, who won by scores of 25-10, 25-11 and 25-13.
