Drago and Crounse keep Scotia on roll

Players account for five goals as Tartans score in double digits again

The Scotia girls’ soccer team posted double-digit goals offensivel­y and a shutout defensivel­y for a third straight game, cruising past Glens Falls 10-0 on Friday in a Foothills Council clash.

The Tartans have been enjoying October so far, as they have outscored their opponents 34-0 in their three games this month. Scotia defeated Gloversvil­le 13-0 on Oct. 2 and Amsterdam 11-0 on Oct. 6 before the latest win.

Brooklyn Drago scored three goals and Lucy Crounse added two goals and two assists to pace the Tartans.

More girls’ soccer: Suburban rivals Shaker and Bethlehem played to a 3-3 tie in Bethlehem. Shaker held a 2-1 lead at the halftime break but the Eagles rallied to force the tie in the second half. Ruth Hotaling scored twice and Alex Hartson had a goal to lead Bethlehem. Olivia Papa, Vivian Nartey and Francesca Logrippo had the Blue Bison goals.

Boys’ soccer: On Senior Night at Voorheesvi­lle, Aidan Lawson scored three goals and Jake Johnson and Jacob Bogdany scored two apiece as the Blackbirds crushed Ravena 9-0 in a Colonial Council game.

Girls’ tennis: Emma Willard rolled to a 7-2 nonleague victory over Columbia. Pitta Triyanond, Shuaiding Tina Mao, Olivia Liang, Manu Bala and Eunice Jeong all had singles wins for the Jaspers. The pairs of Azalea Case and Madeleine Stamper-kong along with Liana Zhang and Samantha Baker provided the doubles victories for Emma Willard.

Field hockey: Emma Mccart scored four goals as Hoosick Falls cruised past Corinth 7-0 in an Adirondack/wasaren League contest. The Panthers improved to 11-1 overall and kept their perfect league record intact, climbing to 7-0. Corinth dipped to 3-7 and 3-6.
