Ben Reinhard scored in overtime to spark No. 2 Greenville to a 2-1 win over No. 7 Ichabod Crane in a Class B boys’ soccer quarterfinal game Friday in Greenville.
Reinhard gave Greenville the lead in the first half on an assist from Jack Motta.
More boys’ soccer: Ten-time defending Class D champion Fort Ann had to forfeit its sectional playoff game against Argyle — scheduled for Saturday — after several players were quarantined because of COVID-19.
Girls’ soccer: Top-seeded Queensbury crushed No. 8 Amsterdam 8-2 to advance to the Class A semifinals. Brigid and Bayley Duffy combined for five goals in the win . ... Cross country: Columbia’s boys’ and girls’ teams defended their 2019 titles at the Rensselaer County championships. Gitch Hayes of La Salle won the boys’ 2.7-mile race at Grafton Lakes State Park in 14 minutes, 13.03 seconds. Nathan Davis and Jacob Yannone were 2-3 for Columbia.
