DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — John Joseph Bouchey, 89, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on October 16, 2021, at Adventheal­th Daytona Beach in Florida, surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born in Troy on September 8, 1932. He was the son of the late John and Rose Bouchey and the beloved husband and best friend of Jayne. Joe graduated from Catholic Central in Troy, class of 1950. He proudly served his country that he loved in the U.S. Army National Guard. Joe enjoyed a long career as a talented electricia­n including 40 years with Machnick Electric. Joe’s hobbies included golf, bowling and softball. He was an enthusiast­ic fan of the N.Y. Yankees and N.Y. Giants. He had many long, close friendship­s including Friends of 112th Street in Lansingbur­gh and within the community of Columbia Crest Apartments in Cohoes.

He was the loving father of his daughters, Jill, Jan, Chrissy (Lenny), Sandy (Mike), "adopted daughter" Carrie, along with his sons, David (Becky), Nick, Tony (Anne), Brian, Bill (Jody) and Mike. Joe, "Pa," took great pride in his twenty grandchild­ren and was able his enjoy his retirement years especially with Allyson, Luke and Sofia. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchild­ren, his brother Dan (the late Danna); his daughters-inlaw, Kim and Erin; and sister-in-law Kay. Joe also has many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including Randy and Maggie of Michigan. Joe was predecease­d by his brothers, John (Ruth), Jim and Bobby.

Joe’s family will be celebratin­g his life with private memorials and would like to express special thanks to the compassion­ate and caring staff at Adventheal­th.

Joe loved his grandpuppy Dusty and in his honor, his family would like to request any donations be sent to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in Menands.
