Hanson, Judith Weissbard
ALBANY — Judith Weissbard Hanson died peacefully and surrounded by love on October 15, 2021.
She was born in Albany to Alfred Weissbard and Ramona Van Wie Weissbard. She was a lifelong resident of the Capital Region; she was a graduate of St. Lawrence University and The College of Saint Rose. Judy spent her career working for the Office of Mental Hygiene and later the Office of Temporary Disability Determinations. She was a lifelong member of the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany. Social justice and caring for her family were Judy’s main focuses over the years. She was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, husband Donald; and exceptional friend, Jerry Hanson. Judy is survived by her brother, David (Karen); his daughters, Lisa (Valerie), Shelley (Dean), Meredith (Ray) and Hilary (Zachary) and their families. Her presence will be missed the most by her daughter, Kathy (Gregg); her grandchildren, Talia, Antoni, Kassia and Ezio; and her great-granddaughter Caydence as well host of loving cousins lifelong friends.
A celebration of life will be held on October 30, at 2 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Albany, 405 Washington Ave. Albany. Masks will be required for the safety of Judy’s youngest loved ones.
