Knicks fall to Pacers

Turner’s 25 points help Indiana pull away from N.Y.

Myles Turner scored 25 points, hitting seven of 10 3-pointers, and had 13 rebounds in the Indiana Pacers’ 111-98 victory over the New York Knicks on Wednesday night.

Turner scored the first eight points of the game — and the Pacers never trailed. Caris Levert added 21 points for Indiana.

RJ Barrett led New York with 23 points, and Julius Randle added 18 points and 14 rebounds. The Knicks pulled to 85-83 on Derrick Rose’s basket, but the Pacers scored the next five points to regain control.

Turner left the game in the second quarter after taking a blow to the head from Randle while taking a charge. He returned in the second half and opened with a 3-pointer in the first minute in the third quarter.

Indiana shot 45.3 percent in the first half to take a 59-50 lead. The Pacers made nine 3pointers in the opening half, while the Knicks were 4-for-16.

Nets 117, Hawks 108: Kevin Durant scored 32 points and led the spurt that broke open the game late in the third quarter, and Brooklyn beat Atlanta for its third straight victory. Durant had 13 points in a 20-4 run to end the third that turned a tie game into a 16point Nets lead going to the fourth. He added seven rebounds and five assists overall. Joe Harris made six 3-pointers and scored 18 points; James Harden had 16 points and 11 assists. Shenendeho­wa graduate Kevin Huerter had 16 points in 23 minutes for Atlanta.

Celtics 92, Magic 79:

Jaylen Brown scored 28 points and Boston used an 18-1 run at the start of the second half to break open a close game over Orlando. Jayson Tatum added 14 points as the Celtics snapped a three-game losing streak and defeated the Magic for a seventh consecutiv­e time over the past three seasons. Boston made 11 of its first 17 shots of the second half, turning the game into a rout early in the third period.

76ers 103, Bulls 98: Joel Embiid had 18 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in his return to the lineup, and Seth Curry scored 22 points and hit a crucial jumper late to lead Philadelph­ia over Chicago. Georges Niang added 18 points for the short-handed 76ers, who have won four in a row.

Raptors 109, Wizards 100:

Fred Vanvleet scored a season-high 33 points, OG Anunoby added 21 and Toronto beat Washington for its fifth consecutiv­e victory. Vanvleet hit 13 of 22 shots for the Raptors, who avenged a 15-point opening night loss at home to the Wizards two weeks ago.

Cavaliers 107, Trail Blazers 104: Jarrett Allen scored 24 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, and rookie Evan Mobley added 11 points and 11 rebounds in his fourth doubledoub­le as Cleveland beat Portland.

Clippers 126, Timberwolv­es 115: Paul George had 32 points and eight assists, and Reggie Jackson scored a season-high 29 points as Los Angeles beat Minnesota. George shot 11-for-18, including 4-for-8 from long distance, as Los Angeles had its best shooting night of the season and won its second straight game.
