Mcgarvey, Evangeline

CASTLETON —

-

Evangeline "Angie" Mcgarvey, 83, left us the morning of November 2, 2021, with family by her side.

Angie was born October 8, 1938, in Dodge, North Dakota to Olga and Lambert Gerhart. Angie was the second of four children, and proudly embraced her heritage.

Angie married Jerome "Jerry" Mcgarvey on August 30, 1958. The young couple moved from Bismarck, North Dakota to Castleton, in the early 1960s, where they started their family. Angie raised her children with love and confidence and opened her heart and home to others along the way with kindness and compassion. She placed others first, reveling in the happiness she provided. She believed that the right thing is often the hardest, and often sacrificed to do what she knew to be right. She made lifelong friends. She loved to socialize with her family and friends, but her passion was her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Beepka.

Angie was an active member of the Catholic Church. She volunteered as a lay instructor while her children were learning Catholicism at Holy Spirit. For many years Angie was a Eucharistic minister at Sacred Heart Church. She partnered with Jerry on many business ventures and enjoyed a happy retirement.

Evangeline Mcgarvey is survived by her husband Jerome Mcgarvey; her daughters, Lisa (Barry) Mcgarveydavis and Amy (the late and beloved Bill) Mcgarveyroe; her sons, Doug (Jill) Mcgarvey and Sean (Regina) Mcgarvey; ten grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; her sisters, Isabell Braun and Mariah Thomas; and her brother Bert Gerhart.

A special thank you to our four compassionate caregivers; (Julaine, Sharon, Kareen and Anacia) for everything you have done to help Evangeline and us all through the past three difficult months. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Angie was beloved and will be missed dearly by family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Castleton Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave. Castleton on Friday evening from 4-6 p.m. Interment in New Sacred Heart Cemetery, S. Old Post Road, Castleton.
