PHILADELPHIA, Pa.

Reverend Michael J. Kennedy, C.M., passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at St. Vincent’s Seminary in Philadelphia.

Born in Albany, N.Y. he was the son of the late Michael and Ellen (nee Hughes) Kennedy. He was the brother of the late Margaret Frieberg (Edwin), John Kennedy C.M., and Thomas Kennedy FSC. He is survived by nieces, Mary Ellen Frieberg (Michael King), Ann Mahoney (John); nephews, Edwin Frieberg and Thomas Frieberg (Suzanne); and 17 great and grand nieces and nephews.

Viewings will be held on Friday, 3-5 p.m. 7-9 p.m. and again Saturday, 9-10 a.m. at St. Vincent’s Seminary 500 E. Chelten Ave., Philadelphia, PA.. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow on Saturday, at 2 p.m. in Princeton Abbey & Cemetery, Princeton, NJ.

Memorial donations may be made to Congregation of the Mission, 500 E. Chelten Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19144. (Proof of vaccination is required to attend and face masks must be worn).

Frank was a committed recreational golfer, an avid traveler, a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants, a classic country music aficionado, and never shy of being the first on the wedding reception dance floor. He led an exemplary life with family, faith, duty, community, and service as his foundations.

Visitation will be held at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Tabb, Va. on Friday, November 5 at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m., which will be live streamed here: shorturl.at/ fgpyn In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to the Exchange Club of Poquoson (P.O. BOX 2036, Poquoson, VA 23662) and Objective Zero Foundation (https://www. objectivezero.org/donate) for their support of veterans and the military community, both organizations in which Frank deeply believed.

Frank will be laid to rest in a private family service at Arlington National Cemetery.
