COLONIE — Prosper B. Regina peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on November 3, 2021. Born on January 17, 1938, he was the son of the late Josephine Sangineto and Josephat Regina.

Prosper lived a full life devoted to his family and the times spent together he cherished the most. Prosper was loving husband to wife Rita (Dandraw) Regina for sixtyone years until her passing in 2019. He leaves behind a family whom he taught what love compassion and family values truly means, four daughters, Shelley Varno, Joanne Robustiano (Claudio), Deborah Regina and Laurie Regina (Douglas Mcclaine); 14 grandchild­ren and eight greatgrand­children. Prosper was the loving brother of Carmela (August) Franze, Blase Regina and the late Gloria Wager and Mary Brock; and brother-in-law to Joan Meister, Geraldine Rovelli, Frank Dandraw (Sue), Edward Dandraw (Nusia) and Daniel Dandraw (Christine). Prosper was also predecease­d by his two baby daughters, Darlene Marie and Theresa Frances.

Prosper served in United States Army where he was a mechanic. After his service, Prosper worked as a master mechanic for the next 69 years with the skills to fix any machine or motor. Family was his greatest joy, but he also enjoyed camping especially those years spent at Tupper Lake and NASCAR.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all of Prosper’s s doctors and Hospice care for their support and care. A special thank you to his granddaugh­ter Mattia Robustiano who cared for her Grampy until his last breath.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, November 5, at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonvill­e. Friends may visit at the church, prior to the mass, from 9 to 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectad­y.
