Canajoharie resident dies in two-vehicle crash

A 62-year-old Canajoharie man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 5S, the Montgomery County sheriff's office said.

Thomas L. May, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Dec. 8 crash.

The driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam and a passenger's injuries were treated at the scene, deputies said.

The crash, which happened at 2:30 p.m., closed Route 5S for several hours.

Deputies say they are still investigating the crash but say the people who survived are cooperating in the investigation.
