A CDPHP, addressing local pharmacy desert concerns, held a grand opening of Connectrx Hometown in Watervliet. A Cardiology Associates of Schenectad­y, a member of St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates, formally opened its newest location at 23 Arterial

Plaza, Route 30A, in Gloversvil­le. With the opening of the location, CAS has expanded its ability to provide greater access to cardiac care in Gloversvil­le and the surroundin­g communitie­s of Fulton and Montgomery counties. The new location is open to existing patients of the practice. It is also accepting new patients.

A Albany Poets and the Hudson Valley Writers Guild have announced their plan of coming together to support and grow a vibrant local literary community. The combined organizati­on will operate as the Hudson Valley Writers Guild moving forward. HVWG president Faith Green will continue in that position in the organizati­on, while Albany Poets president Thom Francis will become vice president of programs.

A The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics issued its annual national release on fatal work injuries. There were 4,764 work-related deaths recorded in the United States in 2020, a 10.7 percent decrease from 5,333 in 2019. The fatal work injury rate was 3.4 fatalities per 100,000 full-time equivalent

workers, down from 3.5 per 100,000 in 2019.
