and All Saints Catholic Academy students in Albany are collecting medical supplies and monetary donations for Ukraine.

All Saints’ Church held a community-wide Prayer Service for Peace in Ukraine on Sunday during which supplies and donations were collected.

Financial contributions dropped off at the church at 16 Homestead St. will be used to help defray shipping charges. The supplies will shipped by air to Poland and then transported by trucks into Ukraine.

At Sunday’s service, University at Albany students and All Saints congregants read Ukrainian poems.

Also, students at All Saints Catholic Academy made “Pinwheels for Peace” with sunflowers on them (the national flower of Ukraine) for the service and were handed out to attendees.

Blue and yellow ribbons, representing the colors of Ukraine’s flag, were also made for distribution.
