RENSSELAER — Theresa J. Desimone Bollman of Rensselaer, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 1, 2022, one week before her 76th birthday.

She was born and raised in the Capital District and lived there all her life. Theresa excelled in everything she did throughout her life. The young woman who graduated from Cardinal Mcclosky High School as the vice president of her class went on to nursing school followed by a career in the insurance industry as a claims consultant. She worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance company as well as Blue Cross and when she retired, she owned and operated the Altamont Diner. Needless to say, Theresa was an incredible cook and she decided to spread her particular culinary talents beyond friends and family.

Theresa was the daughter of the late John Desimone and Frances (Cutulle) Desimone of West Albany. She was predeceased by her adoring husband, Leroy Bollman and leaves behind her beloved children, Maureen (Philip Jr.) Rizzuto and Terrence Skelly Jr. She was the proud loving grandmother of three grandsons, Philip Rizzuto III, Gianni Rizzuto and Terrence Skelly III. Her brother, John (Angela) Desimone and nephews, John and Julian Desimone and niece, Erin Desimone will all miss her terribly. She also had the love of her great-nephew Arlo Desimone and great-nieces, Michaela Toomey and Giavanna Desimone as well as many cousins. Theresa had several lifelong friends who she kept in touch with and who all brought her immeasurable comfort throughout her health issues during the last few few years.

Theresa Bollman was a woman of unwavering faith, and her strength will always be an inspiration to all who knew her. At Theresa’s request, there will be a private service for the immediate family.

Friends and family may leave condolences and memories on Theresa’s page at w ww.wjlyonfuneralhome.com
