Prinzo, Rose "Rosalie"

-

ALBANY — Rose Marie Prinzo, 84 of Albany, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, after a brief illness.

Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Vernice Porcello. Rosalie, as she was lovingly known, was a graduate of St. John’s Academy and Philip Schuyler High School.

As a young girl, she excelled in sports. She was on the bowling team and was a cheerleader. Rosalie was voted most athletic in her senior year. She was delighted that her niece Natalya Porcello shared her love for bowling.

Together with her husband, Carmen, they lovingly raised six children and ran several businesses most notably Prinzo’s Bakery. It was common knowledge among her children’s friends that they were always welcome for a swim or backyard barbecue.

Rosalie knew how to enjoy life, she loved music and often attended rock concerts. Her laugh was infectious! She had a great sense of humor, and if she found something funny, you knew it from across the room.

Rosalie made friends everywhere she went, and in her retirement years, that was everywhere. From Hawaii to Italy to Aruba any many places in between. She was lucky to have fun loving traveling companions in her dear friends Naomi and Darlene and treasured sister-in-law Joanna. Rosalie spent winters in Florida with her favorite cousin Peter and his wife Faye. She was blessed to celebrate her 80th birthday with her entire family in Las Vegas. When her traveling was at an end, she enjoyed a weekly card game with the girls.

Rosalie was predeceased by her husband, Carmen; her brother, John Porcello; her son, Anthony Prinzo; and her son-in-law, Paul Husson. She is survived by her children, Carmen (Judy) Prinzo of Las Vegas, Lori (Matt) Johnson of San Diego, Teresa Husson (Joe Urso) of Albany, Joseph (Philomena) Prinzo of East Greenbush and Anna Prinzo of Albany. She was the sister of Chaz (Antonia) Porcello of Colonie. Rosalie is also survived by ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Rosalie’s family on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Mater Christi, Hurst Avenue, Albany. Enspent
