MECHANICVI­LLE — Martha D. Montanari, 80 of South Central Avenue, died peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on June 10, 2022, after a brief illness, with her loving family at her side.

Born in Troy on May 29, 1942, the daughter of the late Alfred and Nickaline Shemo Mignacci, she was a 1961 graduate of Mechanicvi­lle High School. Martha started her career working for the N.Y.S. Department of Taxation and Finance and later transition­ed into banking. She then worked for Northeast bank, Fleet Bank and finally Bank of America for over 15 years, where she worked as a clerk before retiring in 2007.

She was an avid coin collector who also enjoyed crafts, fishing, and bocce. She was a lifelong member All Saints on the Hudson Parish (Assumption-st. Paul) often volunteeri­ng to work in their Mother Theresa thrift shop, and was also a member of their Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ronald P. Montanari, whom she married on September 26, 1965; her two sons, Ronald Jr. (Joanne Soucy) and Alfred M. Montanari; granddaugh­ter, Amanda Montanari; siblings, Alfred (Carol) Mignacci, John (Margaret "Peg") Mignacci and Rosemary (Bill) Sano; brother-inlaw, Thomas Kearney, and several nieces and nephews. She was also predecease­d by She was also predecease­d by her sister, Mary Mignacci Kearney.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 9:3011:30 a.m. at All Saints on the Hudson Church (St. Paul’s), 121 N. Main St, Mechanicvi­lle, with a funeral Mass to immediatel­y follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
