LATHAM — Donald F. Brennan, 84, died peacefully Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes. He was born in Troy on April 4, 1938, the son of the late John and Marjorie Murray Brennan.

Don was raised and educated in Green Island and was a 1955 graduate of Heatly School. He was employed as a printer for the Troy Record, Boyd Printing and by the N.Y.S. Education Department in Albany before retiring. He also had worked for Red Star Transporta­tion in his younger years. In retirement, he was known as “Ranger Don” at the Mill Road Golf Course where he worked for over 10 years.

When living in Watervliet, Don was a member and commission­er of the Schuyler Heights Fire Company and was a 50 year member of the Watervliet-colonie Lodge of Elks. He also belonged to the Latham Knights of Columbus where he shot darts and played in their golf league. He was a communican­t of the former St. Brigid’s Church before moving to Latham where he was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

Don was an avid fan of the Siena Saints basketball team where he was a season ticket holder and a member of the Coaches Club. He was also a N.Y. Yankees fan.

He and his wife Marie were members of the Watervliet Arsenal Pitch & Putt Golf League. He enjoyed trips to the casinos, loved playing the horses and enjoyed trips to St. Pete’s Beach in Florida.

He was the beloved husband of 50 years of Marie T. O’connell Brennan who died in 2012; devoted father of Darren G. (Gene Hoffman) Brennan of Halfmoon and Colleen M. (Christophe­r) Parmelee of Latham; proud grandfathe­r of Shailagh Brennan, Brennan Parmelee and Fallon Parmelee; dear brother of Paul (Susan) Brennan of Albany, William (Linda) Brennan of Loudonvill­e and the late Eileen Germaine; brother-in-law of James Germaine of Latham, Margaret (Terry) Hanks of Plant City, Fla. and Gayle (late Joseph) O’connell of Tinton Falls, N.J.; special friend of Nancy Gambino and her dog Coco of Latham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
