Street Outlaws: Fastest in America Discovery Channel, 8 p.m. ■ Season Premiere

The unscripted series is back, following JJ Da Boss and eight teams of street racers from across the U.S. as they compete to win up to $250,000. But this season is a gamechange­r: Instead of group head-to-head matchups like previous seasons, this year, two racers from each team are selected every night to compete in a 16-driver bracket showdown for cash, leading to a no-holdsbarre­d final. At the end of nine weeks, the team that has the most wins and cash secures the title and a bonus of $100,000.

Killer Cheer Investigat­ion Discovery, 10 p.m. ■ New Series

This true-crime series that presents how crimes among young women can turn deadly begins with “All American Murder.” Among the stories featured in this episode, the killing of a popular schoolgirl in broad daylight leads detectives to initially believe the killer must be from out of town. As the investigat­ion unfolds, they discover the culprit is closer than anyone could imagine.

Quantum Leap NBC, 10 p.m.

In “Ben Song for the Defense,” when Ben (Raymond Lee) leaps into a harried public defender, he must keep an innocent teenager accused of murder out of prison for life. In an unexpected turn of events, Jenn (Nanrisa Lee) puts her legal expertise to the test as she steps in as the hologram on this complicate­d leap.
