— Barbara (Fowler) Andrews, 81, a lifelong resident of Mechanicville, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2023, as a result of a recent series of health complications.

Born in Troy on August 4, 1941, the daughter of the late Floyd and Anna Yager Fowler, she was a 1959 graduate of Mechanicville High School. Barbara worked for 25 years at the N.Y.S. Department of Taxation and Finance where she was a clerk before retiring in 2008.

An avid animal lover, Barb enjoyed the company of her many cats throughout the years. She also enjoyed bowling and trips to the Racino with her friends. She was fond of the yearly trips with her family to Cape Cod and the ocean. Barb was also known as compassionate, empathetic, independent and stubborn; her friends will smile when they remember her quirky sense of humor.

Survivors include her son, Lawrence Fowler (Andrea Schneider) of Schaghticoke; as well as her grandson, Naven Fowler; and his sister, Cinna-marie Kroup.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, June 3, from 5-7 p.m. at the Devito-salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S. Main St., Mechanicville. A funeral home service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, with burial to follow in the Hudson View Cemetery.
