Village elections are on Tuesday

Voting is on Tuesday, March 19, in several villages in the Capital Region and Hudson Valley, but very few have contested races. Voting is from noon to 9 p.m. unless otherwise noted. In most cases, candidates are not affiliated with a major party. Here’s a rundown:

Athens: Three people seek two trustee seats, Democratic incumbent Gail Lasher, Democratic challenger Joey Dillberg and Republican challenger Rebecca Vermilyea.

Castleton-on-hudson: Michael Silk is unopposed for mayor. Patricia Pillsworth and Thomas Tobia are unopposed for the trustee seats. Voting is at Village Hall, 85 S. Main St.

Catskill: Four people seek two trustee seats, Republican incumbents Peter Grasse and Jeffrey Holliday, and Democratic challenger­s Jeff Workman and Dan Ward.

Chatham: Melanie Spock and Karyn Schassler are unopposed for the trustee seats.

Colonie: Current trustee James Rubino is unopposed for the fouryear mayor’s seat. Incumbent Frank Prevratil and newcomer Jason Depaulo are unopposed for the two four-year trustee seats. Voting is 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Village Hall on Thunder Road.

Corinth: Dean Brown, a village trustee, is unopposed for mayor. Deborah Stollery and James Clark are unopposed for the four-year trustee seats. Michael Bedell is unopposed for an unexpired trustee term ending April 2026. Vote at Village Hall, 244 Main St.

Coxsackie: Four people seek two trustee seats, Katlyn Irwin, Deidre Meier, Stephanie Sitcer and Cesar Echavarria.

East Nassau: Elisa Martin is unopposed for mayor. Three people seek the two trustee seats, Lydia Davis, Nick Atchinson and Matthew Benesch Jr. Gerald Tremblay is unopposed for the one year remaining on a trustee seat. Voting is at Hoags Corner Ambulance, 19 Town Garage Road.

Galway: Anne Best running unopposed for mayor. (Second year of two-year mayoral term after previous mayor William “Bill” Hyde died.) Pamela Hyde, (Bill Hyde’s wife) is running unopposed for twoyear trustee seat. Vote at the Galway Public Library, 2112 East Street.

Hoosick Falls: Deb Alter, Dan Schuttig and Bret Hanselman are unopposed for three two-year trustee seats. Megan Walraed is unopposed for the one year remaining on a trustee seat. Voting is at Village Hall, 24 Main St.

Kinderhook: Dorene M. Weir of the Lindenwald Party is unopposed for mayor after Micheal Abrams declined to seek reelection. Four people seek two trustee seats: T. Kevin Monahan and Susan Patterson of the New Kinderhook Party, Astrid Montagano People’s Party and Christophe­r van Moessner, of the OK Community Party. Vote at Village Hall.

Ravena: Incumbent Nancy Warner and Sante Debacco, Democrats, are unopposed for the two trustee seats. Vote at Village Hall, 15 Mountain Road.

Schaghtico­ke: David Natter and Elizabeth Baker are unopposed for the two four-year trustee seats. Vote at Village Hall, 162 Main St.

Philmont: Douglas Cropper and Debra Gitterman are unopposed for trustee seats.

Tannersvil­le: Three people seek two trustee seats, Gregory Thorpe, Andrew Tepper and George Kelly.

Valatie: Patrick Rogers is running unopposed for trustee, and Amy Freinberg-trufas is running to fill a trustee seat left vacant by Angelo Nero.

Valley Falls: Charles Wright and John Satelli are unopposed for the two-year trustee seats. Vote at Village Hall, 11 Charles St.

Villages not voting this month are Altamont, Ballston Spa, Delanson, Green Island, Hunter, Nassau, Round Lake, Schuylervi­lle, Scotia, South Glens Falls, Stillwater, Victory, Voorheesvi­lle and Waterford.
