Valleycats sign Siena’s Marynzcak

Delmar native and Siena College graduate Arlo Marynzcak is among three new pitchers signed by the Tricity Valleycats, the team announced on Monday.

The 24-year-old was a star at Bethlehem, earning Section II and Suburban Council honors in his senior year before joining the Saints. The righty made the full transition to starter as a graduate student last year, with 86 strikeouts in 812⁄3 innings.

The 6-foot-8 Marynzcak joins right-handers Josh Vincent and Humberto Vela as the newest members of the Valleycats.

Spurs’ Wembanyama sits out

SAN ANTONIO — Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama missed Monday’s game against Phoenix because of a sprained left ankle. No timetable was given for his return.

Stolen Jagr bobblehead­s back

PITTSBURGH — The case of the missing Jaromir Jagr bobblehead­s was resolved. The Pittsburgh Penguins said they have secured the shipment of bobblehead­s honoring the NHL’S second-leading career scorer and will begin to distribute them during their home game against Tampa Bay on April 6. The team had originally planned to hand the trinkets out as part of a promotion on March 14. The shipment carrying the bobblehead­s was reported stolen and the giveaway postponed.

Garcia outs Gauff in Miami

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — U.S. Open champ Coco Gauff is out of the Miami Open, the third seed beaten 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 by No. 23 Caroline Garcia, who reached the quarterfin­als.

Also advancing was No. 4 seed Elena Rybakina, who defeated 17th-seeded American Madison Keys 6-3, 7-5. On the men’s side, Alexander Zverev, the fourth seed, defeated Christophe­r Eubanks 7-6 (4), 6-3 to advance into the third round. Andy Murray said he suffered a significan­t ankle injury and is sidelined.
