Men found guilty in murder of Troy teenager in 2022

TROY — Two men accused of shooting a teenager to death in 2022 were found guilty of second-degree murder Friday.

The jury found Ramel Gulley, 29, of Schenectad­y and William Webb, 30, of Brooklyn guilty of killing 16-year-old Anthony M.

Christophe­r Jr. when they forced their way into his home Jan. 5, 2022, on River Street and shot him multiple times in the torso and once in the head.

A third man, Kahlil Clay, was also with the pair and his trial on second-degree murder charges will begin April 8, Rensselaer County District

Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly said in a statement Monday.

Donnelly highlighte­d the involvemen­t of the FBI, New York City Brooklyn North Violent Crime Squad and the U.S. Marshals in the prosecutio­n. Webb and Clay were arrested in May 2022 in Brooklyn. Assistant District

Attorney Cheryl Mcdermott had previously said that discovery evidence was “quite voluminous.”

A 2022 obituary for Christophe­r said he was born in Hudson and attended Troy High School. He was an aspiring rapper and entreprene­ur who went by “Big Don,” “Tookie” and “Ant Daklikka.”

“His loving memory will live on in all of those who got the chance to know him during this short period here on earth as one who could make a room light up, for his love to eat and smoke, for always being on the phone with the girls, being fun filled, loving, caring and loyal, a genius, an inspiratio­n to so many, known as a class clown and a practical joker and would steal your chips or your socks but most of all for being his mom’s best friend,” the obituary said.

Gulley and Webb face a maximum of 25 years to life in prison when they are sentenced April 19.
