• The city of Saratoga Springs and Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation present a free virtual program, “Lunch & Learn: Preservation Basics” at noon April 2. • Gov. Kathy Hochul approved the 2023-24 Adirondack Park State Land classification package. According to the Adirondack Park Agency, it includes 25 state land classifications totaling 5,800 acres and 11 state land reclassifications of 250 total acres. It includes Marion River, a 266.8-acre parcel in Arietta and Indian
Lake for a canoe carry around rapids and a connection between Raquette Lake and Blue Mountain Lake. It includes remnants of a rail line built by William West Durant in 1899 and is classified as Wild Forest.
• Volunteer fire departments across New York will open their doors to residents April 13 and 14, as part of the 15th annual Recruitny weekend. This event is a major initiative of the Firefighters Association of the State of New York designed to help increase volunteer membership in local departments.
• The Bank of Greene County said it has pledged up to $10 million in low-interest loans to support owner-occupied businesses in the Capital Region as part of the bank’s expansion with the opening of its Capital Region Banking Center at 3 Winners Circle, Colonie.
• New York State Homes and Community Renewal
announced housing tax credits and subsidies for three local developments: $9.4 million for The Haven at Latham in Colonie (Developer is Dakota Partners); $8.7 million for Colvin Avenue Apartments in Albany (Regan Development Corp.) and $5.4 million for Clinton Square Studios in Albany.
