By definition, no one controls one’s destiny. It is preordained and inevitable. So, while the Broncos can make the playoffs by virtue of their performance, they cannot control their destiny — only the fates do that. Please help me in my efforts to eradicate this tired sports cliché.

IT SEEMS Neal is in over his head. This season is in danger of slipping away after the debacle against BYU.

THE LOBOS HAVE no chance of success this season with Coach Neal’s son trying to play point guard. He does not have Division I level skills. He cannot create off the dribble or score when guarded, and is a turnover machine (8 against BYU). Get used to it Lobo fan. Unless daddy makes a change, this team is going nowhere.

CRAIG NEAL ... conveniently overlooks the fact his son is at the root of the problem. To be a point guard you can’t turn the ball over seven times in a game. Cullen’s cockiness on the court merits no reason. The BYU game was a microcosm of the season and his point guard’s play. Step back coach and show no bias in evaluating your team’s talent. Maybe it’s time to move Cullen to shooting guard, or even bring him in off the bench. His play has been suspect the whole season. His defense, even more so.

UNM’S MEN’S basketball team is in big trouble. Krebs extended Coach Neal’s contract to 2020 —not good at all! If the city of Albuquerque does build a new 10,000 seat basketball arena maybe UNM can cut costs by playing there (or Johnson Gym as demand for seats may be lacking) and the undersized (for major events) Pit can be used for big profitable events like rodeo and the like.

BY NOW Lobo Nation has fired Craig Neal. Cullen Neal not only has been dismissed from the team, he’s been kicked out of school, as well. Jonathan A from Moriarty will coach the team for the rest of the season. He’ll also provide architectural (advice) to UNM on a as needed basis. JA will be assisted with coaching duties on a rotating basis by a plethora of local basketball experts. I’ll be looking for you in the Final Four. — Johnny Yuma,

ELIJAH BROWN and Tim Williams are thinking “Why did we come here to a guy named Noodles?” Could have stayed where we were and not get embarrassed like this. Nobody was thinking what will happen in the future years with this coach! Now we know. Maybe Ritchie McKay and Noodles went to the same coaching school. Way to go Krebs!
