Margaret Pargin passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on June 13, 2016 at her home in Tome. Margaret was born on August 8, 1930 in Durango, CO.

She is survived by her husband, Doyle, of 65 years; son, Dan and his wife, Tracy; sisters, Rita Adkins and Teresa Moulds; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lynn and her husband, Steve Nelson; father and mother, Mike and Myra Cummins; in-laws, Myrtle and Leon Pargin; brother, Lewis Cummins; sister, Helen Miller; and niece, Myra Miller.

In her lifetime, Margaret was an active member of her community and her church. She was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs School in Boston. Margaret was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Tome. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Sierra Club and the 100 Club in support of Samarians. Margaret was a fan of St. Patrick’s Day and enjoyed serving corned beef and cabbage with Brother Mathias.

In the community she was a member of Charles Debrell Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, a board member of the YMCA and of the Barrett House Foundation. Margaret and Doyle founded Pargin Realty in 1964.

The Rosary will be recited on Friday, June 17, 2016, 10:30 a. m., with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, with Monsignor Francis X. Eggert and Father Jose Hernandez concelebra­ting the Mass. Honorary Pallbearer­s will be Margaret’s nephews: Michael, Robert and Patrick Moulds, Ed Adkins, Mike Miller, Chuck Metzler and Robert Urquart. Thanks to Prescilla Johnson, Margaret’s caretaker.
