-

ST. PETERBURG, Fla. — Joe Panik had four RBIs, including a tie-breaking, three-run homer in the ninth that sent San Francisco to its seventh straight win, 6-4 over Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Panik’s two-out drive helped lift the NL West-leading Giants to 17 games over .500.

The Giants pulled even at 3 on Brandon Crawford’s twoout RBI single in the eighth.

Hunter Strickland (3-0) worked out of a two-on, twoout jam in the eighth to get the win. Cory Gearrin allowed Logan Forsythe’s solo homer in the ninth en route to his second save. ORIOLES 4, BLUE JAYS 2: In Baltimore, Jonathan Schoop went 3-for-4 with a homer, and Yovani Gallardo and three relievers shut down the Jays as Baltimore ended Toronto’s four-game winning streak.

Manny Machado also had three hits for the Orioles.

Gallardo (2-1) came off the 15-day DL to allow two runs, five hits and four walks over five innings. The right-hander was pitching for the first time since April 22 after being sidelined with shoulder tendinitis.

ANGELS 7, ATHLETICS 1: In Oakland, Calif., Tim Lincecum made a winning return to the majors, restarting his career after nearly a year away with six sharp innings and several ovations to lead Los Angeles over Oakland.

Sporting a bright red hat and Angels jersey that was in stark contrast to the black and orange uniforms he wore for nine seasons as a star with San Francisco, Lincecum gave up one run and four hits.

Lincecum, 32, hadn’t pitched in the majors since June 27. He had hip surgery in September, signed with LA in May and had three starts in the minors. INDIANS 13, WHITE SOX 2: In Cleveland, Mike Napoli homered during a five-run first inning as Cleveland became the latest team to batter Chicago’s James Shields.

Shields (2-9), making his third start since being acquired from San Diego, gave up eight runs on seven hits and three walks in 1⅔ innings.

RED SOX 6, MARINERS 2: In Boston, Xander Bogaerts and Jackie Bradley Jr. homered, and Rick Porcello pitched six innings as Boston beat Seattle.

Bogaerts, who entered the day leading the AL in batting, also had a single while raising his average to .352. DIAMONDBACKS 4, PHILLIES 1: In Philadelphia, Zack Greinke won his seventh straight start, pitching threehit ball for eight innings to lead Arizona over Philadelphia.

Paul Goldschmidt, Jake Lamb and Nick Ahmed hit home runs to back Greinke (10-3). Arizona has hit nine homers in two consecutive wins over Philadelphia.

CUBS 4, PIRATES 3: In Chicago, Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant and David Ross each homered to back Jon Lester and lead Chicago to a victory over Pittsburgh.

The major league-leading Cubs (46-20) improved to a season-high 26 games above .500 while the Pirates lost for the ninth time in 10 games.

ROYALS 16, TIGERS 5: In Kansas City, Mo., Kendrys Morales drove in five runs with four hits, and Paulo Orlando also had four hits as Kansas City routed Detroit.

The Royals’ 21 hits and 16 runs were season highs. Whit Merrifield added three hits and four RBIs. It got so bad, Tigers utility player Andrew Romine was summoned to pitch in the eighth. RANGERS 4, CARDINALS 3: In St. Louis, Ian Desmond drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to cap a two-run ninthinning rally as Texas overcame a late three-run deficit to beat St. Louis.

Texas has five straight victories and won its franchiserecord ninth consecutive series — the Rangers beat the Cardinals 1-0 on Friday. ASTROS 5, REDS 4 (11): In Houston, George Springer hit an RBI single in the 11th inning to give Houston a win over Cincinnati.

Jason Castro and Colby Rasmus hit consecutive singles off Josh Smith (0-1) with one out

before Springer’s grounder rolled just out of reach of diving shortstop Zack Cozart.

BRAVES 4, METS 3: In New York, Ender Inciarte sprinted to third when Curtis Granderson lazily threw the ball back to the infield after an eighthinning fly-out and scored the tie-breaking run on a wild pitch that bounced only 10 feet from home plate, boosting Atlanta over New York.

Atlanta overcame a 3-0 deficit and hung on in a wild ninth to beat the Mets for the second straight night and match its longest winning streak this year at four games.

MARLINS 9, ROCKIES 6: In Miami, Giancarlo Stanton singled in his first three at-bats to give his lowly average a boost as Miami totaled 17 hits while beating Colorado.

YANKEES 7, TWINS 6: In Minneapolis, Jacoby Ellsbury hit a tie-breaking, tworun single in the ninth as New York, boosted by Alex Rodriguez’s 695th career homer, rallied past Minnesota.
