GIANTS 2, YANKEES 1 (12): In New York, Mac Williamson homered in the fifth inning and hit a tiebreaking single in the 12th, lifting San Francisco over New York.

Williamson, whose fourth-inning error allowed the Yankees’ run, began the comeback when he connected off Ivan Nova leading off the fifth.

ASTROS 7, ANGELS 2: In Houston, Evan Gattis had two home runs and four RBIs, and Collin McHugh threw six strong innings as Houston beat LA.

Gattis sat out Friday with a bruised right hand after being hit by a pitch Wednesday. He came back Saturday and launched a three-run homer in the second inning and added a solo shot off the facade in left-center in the fourth to give Houston a 5-0 lead.

NATIONALS 3, PADRES 2: In Washington, pinchhitter Stephen Drew hit a game-ending RBI triple in the ninth to give Washington a win over San Diego.

Notes

WHITE SOX: Chicago ace Chris Sale was scratched from his home start against Detroit on Saturday night after he was involved in what the team said was a “non-physical clubhouse incident.”

Sale, who was to attempt to become the majors’ first 15-game winner, was sent home from the park.

FanRag Sports first reported the incident involved Sale’s protest of the throwback jerseys the team was scheduled to wear. Fox Sports reported Sale cut up the throwback jerseys during batting practice.

“The incident, which was non-physical in nature, currently is under further investigation by the club,” GM Rick Hahn said in a statement.

The White Sox marketing department described the night as the “Throwback Game.” It announced the team would wear collared, blue and white V-neck jerseys first worn during the 1976 season.

In the game, the score was 3-3 after eight innings before the game was suspended because of rain. It will be completed today before the regularly scheduled game.
