TO THOSE CRITICIZING
Krebs mention of New Mexico and the Big 12, have any of you never wanted a newer car, a bigger home or a higher paying job? What’s wrong with having a grander vision for Lobo sports? Imagine Lobo home football games against Oklahoma, Texas or Kansas State. How about getting a shot at Kansas and Oklahoma basketball in the Pit? Attendance would rise, enthusiasm would rise and recruiting would be stronger. The Lobos could hold their own in every other sport and football would come along. Carry on Mr. Krebs.
I DIDN’T LIKE the fight, but I did like all the coverage the Journal had on Holly Holm the past week. Rick and Grammer do really well with all the MMA stuff. — tb505
PAUL KREBS and the UNM Administration view “Stadium Expansion” as building a bar in the parking lot. With this kind of petty thinking we will never be in the Big 12. Every Lobo fan better hope the marginal Mountain West Conference will stay together with it current members or the Lobo athletic programs will be lowered to the level of the Aggies. — Kent Livingston, Albuquerque GIVING THE NAMING rights contract to an unproven upstart company with no track record is like hiring a unproven coach with no head coaching experience such as Mike Locksley, Yvonne Sanchez, and Craig Neil. — Razor
IT’S FUNNY LISTENING to all the Lobo football fans that bemoan when our coaches recruit outside of NM while also complaining about the sorry state of the program. There seems to be a belief that 1.) Our state is a H.S. football juggernaut and 2.) The Lobo football program is a desired location by our H.S. players good enough to earn scholarships. Neither of those beliefs are true. If you want a good program you have to recruit where the talent is. Quit complaining about out of state recruits and be happy these kids want to play at UNM. — Rob, Rio Rancho
TO NM NATIVE Abq, I am just glad someone wants to play here and attend college, and will always support the Lobos. Timothy’s Saturday speak up also hits it on the head, it is what it is! And the best news, I agree with Mr. Bowers on Saturday too, it isn’t often Jack! Hmmm, been quiet since Cullen left. — Chispas is back
WHETHER YOU ARE a 12 year old who just won the local Little League championship, or a multi-millionaire who won a Super Bowl, athletes are not robots, they are humans just like us, who react to victories and defeats with emotion. Except for profanity (which I don’t condone) whether they jump onto a table, leap into the air, or fall on the ground (AKA “flop”), who cares? It’s trivial, it means nothing. To avoid working yourself into a frenzy and losing sleep, take the easy, simple solution: turn the TV off, don’t watch it. — Joe, ABQ
