PROMOTIONS
Gabriela Gómez has been promoted by the Albuquerque Community Foundation to donor services manager. Gómez will be responsible for all donor relations and services activities. She will assist in programs to develop and maintain good relations with potential and current donors. Eilene Vaughn-Pickrell has been promoted by the Barrett Foundation Inc. to director of development. VaughnPickrell previously was a community engagement specialist at the foundation and also previously worked for 12 years as a community engagement specialist for Comcast. She is a member of the Association for Fundraising Professionals, New Mexico chapter, and has served as treasurer for the board of directors of Youth Development Inc. Foundation since 2010.

Hallee Kells has joined the Albuquerque Community Foundation. Kells will be responsible for organizing and managing the foundation’s largest fundraising event, Concours du Soleil, which partners with The Cinco Amigos (five local businessman) to celebrate a beautiful collection of New Mexicoowned automobiles while raising funds to make a positive impact in the Albuquerque community. William Mitchell, M.D. has joined New Mexico
Mutual as medical director. Mitchell, board certified in internal medicine, will provide clinical oversight and guidance to help New Mexico Mutual navigate today’s evolving health care environment. He previously worked for 20 years as both a private practice physician and as an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Mitchell also previously worked as medical director of the former St. Joseph Healthcare System in Albuquerque and as head of medical informatics at the Denver-based Catholic Health Initiatives, a 70-hospital system. He has a medical degree from Yale and completed his internal medicine residency at Case Western Reserve University. Antonio GandaraMartinez has joined Boomtime as director of marketing. GandaraMartinez previously worked as the director of marketing at BounceChat. He has a bachelor’s degree in international management from UNM. Katie Beck Joshi, MPAS, PA-C, has joined Western Dermatology Consultants as a licensed physician assistant practicing dermatology. Beck Joshi has 10 years’ experience in dermatology, including a speciality of pre-cancer screening, and has practiced in both an academic setting at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and in the private sector. Beck Joshi has a bachelor’s degree from Goshen College and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Chatham University.

Albuquerque Housing Authority (AHA) has been chosen as a recipient of two national Awards of Merit from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment
Officials (NAHRO). The first award is in recognition of AHA’s success in increasing housing assistance and outreach to veterans. The second award recognizes AHA’s strategic planning efforts.

The New Mexico Society of Association Executives (NMSAE) has elected new board of director officers and board members for 2016-17, effective July 1, 2016.

Arellana Barela Cordero has been elected to the 2016 board of trustees of the Albuquerque Community Foundation. Barela Cordero is a senior vice president of finance at Southwest Capital Bank.
Lions Clubs of New Mexico, District 40 North has elected new officers for 2016-17. FPA Manufacturing, Las Cruces, won a $63,750 federal contract from the Defense Logistics Agency for inner bearing rings.
Pertek LLC, Albuquerque, won a $1,163,421.84 federal contract from the U.S. Department of Energy for administrative and financial support services for the nuclear smuggling and detection program. Creamland Dairies LLC, Albuquerque, won a $74,770 federal contract from the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Indian Affairs for the supply of fluid milk for the Fort Wingate Elementary School in New Mexico.
