Bohnhoff, Lois Marie

-

Lois Bohnhoff. On August 14, 2016, the Lord called Lois Marie Bohnhoff home to Heaven.

Lois was born to Henry and Thora Jacobsen on June 11, 1922, in Freeborn, Minnesota. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Freeborn High School in 1940.

Lois received her nursing training at Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. On September 5, 1949, she married Herman Bohnhoff in Minneapolis, and they moved to Albuquerque to raise their family. They were charter members of Redeemer Lutheran Church. In the 1950s and early 1960s, Lois worked as a nurse at Bataan Memorial Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital and Bernalillo County Medical Center. Beginning in the late 1960s, she worked as school nurse in a number of APS schools.

Lois and Herman retired in 1985 and moved to Durango, Colorado. Following Herman’s death in 1994, Lois returned to Albuquerque, joined Faith Lutheran Church, and in 2005 moved into the La Vida Llena retirement community. Lois’ family wishes to thank the dedicated, professional and caring staff at La Vida Llena, particularly those in the Assisted Living and Nursing Care units.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by her brothers, Grover and Lumen Jacobsen. She is survived by her sister, Jeanice Jansen of Albuquerque; her children, Herman Bohnhoff, III, and his wife, Becky, of Aurora, Colorado, Krista Sagon and her husband, Ed, of Santa Fe, and Henry Bohnhoff, and his wife, Jennifer, of Albuquerque; grandsons Henry Matthew, II, James Christopher, John Thomas and Christian Lane Bohnhoff; great granddaughters Matilda Paige and Mabel Love Bohnhoff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois requested that no service be held in her memory. However, a celebration of her life will be held in September for her family and friends.

Lois was a devoted mother. She was happiest when serving others. She will be remembered with affection by many.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness." 2 Tim. 4:7-8.
