Yolanda "Londy" Garcia 05-251950 to 08-18-2016. Today we celebrate the life of Yolanda "Londy" Garcia, a beautiful and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Londy was born to Benjamin and Louisa Rodriguez on May 25, 1950 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is also from here that she departs to begin her eternal life above.

Londy had a vigorous zest for life which included her love of mariachi music. But she was, perhaps most well known for her generous heart. She often opened her home to provide shelter, meals and other assistance to those in need. A single mother, she was a very strong woman, unafraid to speak her mind and relentless in her guidance to those blessed by her influence.

Londy is survived by her longtime life partner, Arturo Cortez as well as her three adoring daughters, Yvette Jaramillo, Maria Garcia Munoz and Angelica Acosta. Her earthly life continues vicariously through her beloved grandchildren, Martin Narro, Jr., Yasmine Acosta, Junior Acosta and Mateo Munoz. Sisters, Maryann Mendoza, Anna Alcorta and Lydia Vargas will continue to carry her lively spirit with them as well. Their spouses, who brought added joy to Londy’s life, include Louis Wade, Eddi Acosta, Charlie Alcorta and Louie Vargas. Nieces, Darlene Ruiz and Marlene Anzures along with their children were dear to Londy’s heart as were many others of her large and loving extended family.

The Cortez and Acosta families held a special place in her heart as well.

Although "Londy’s" earthly life ended on August, 18, 2016, her bountiful and influential life will continue with us all forever. A Rosary will be recited Monday, August 22, 2016 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW at 8: 15 a.m.; A Communion Service will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Joaquin Ituarte, Meregildo Zapata Jr., Agustin Dozal, Christopher Garcia, Thomas Lovato, Hugo Garcia, and Manuel Vasquez. Private disposition will take place at a later date.
