Moser, John Chester

-

The Lord Jesus called John Chester Moser Jr. home to Heaven on Friday, August 19, 2016.

The same Lord first put his hand on John at his baptism in Woodward, OK, May 12, 1940. J.C., as he was called, attended elementary, junior high and high school in Sharon, Oklahoma. J.C. confirmed his faith in God on May 31, 1953.

During his school years he worked on the family farm and also worked the wheat harvest in the Midwest, reaching north to Canada. Inspired by Zane Grey’s novels of the American West, J.C. took his diesel mechanic certifications to Flagstaff, Arizona. Shortly after this, he joined operations on the Trans-Arabian Pipeline and began his 25 year career in the Middle East and North Africa. He met and married Claire Sayegh, who preceded him in death. Now retired and at home in Albuquerque, NM, J.C. married Coryn Corona in 2006.

Throughout J.C.’s life he sought to quietly live his faith in the living God by studying the Bible, joining in public worship, and helping wherever he was needed among his sons’ and daughters’ households, his neighbors, and his church home. Following Jesus’ model as the humble servant, John sought every opportunity to use his skills as a mechanic and handyman to help others with acts of charity including: Shepherd Lutheran Church as head trustee; the local Care Net Pregnancy Center with needed maintenance and support; countless neighbors, church members, and acquaintances with all talents and skills God had blessed him with. "Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." (1 Cor. 10:31)

Preceding John in death were his father, John C. Moser Sr. (Chet) in 1981; his wife, Claire in 1997; his mother, Edith in 2004; and his son, Jeffrey in 2016.

Surviving John are his wife, Coryn; son, John and wife Martha; daughters, Aida Looney and husband Brad and Juliette Akers and husband Stuart; eight grandchildren; sister, Shirley Miller; and brother, William (Bill) Moser and wife Vura.
