Here kitty, kitty!

Samantha Thompson and her boyfriend, Gene Chavez, rescued a kitten from a storm drain on Wednesday. Thompson said they were walking along near Coal and University SE in Albuquerque when she heard the meowing of a kitten. Chavez held Thompson’s legs as she crawled into a storm drain and lowered her backpack to try to lure the kitty out. She said it took nearly 30 minutes to coax the kitten to crawl into her backpack so she could hoist it out from the drain.
