-

Charles Ewing Nuckols passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in Mesa, AZ, where he had been living for the past two years. Charlie was born in Oklahoma City, the son of Clyde and Nola Adwell Nuckols on June 22, 1929. He moved to New Mexico with his family in the mid 1940’s and was a resident of Albuquerque until just recently. He attended Albuquerque High School and served several years as a radio operator in the Army during the Korean War. Charlie loved to work and did so until he was 80 years of age traveling throughout New Mexico and at times much of the United States. He worked as a sales representative with Behlen Corp., Research Institute of America and Sport Court. He also started several businesses of his own that he worked alone or with family members. As hobbies he raced horses, mined his own silver mine, flew light planes, raised dogs and walked through much of New Mexico collecting rocks and antiques. He was a loving father and grandfather and we will miss him greatly.

Charlie was pre-deceased by his wife, Dorothea Mella and his son Matthew Nuckols.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter: David and Kim Nuckols of Edgewood, NM, Kelly Nuckols of Mesa, AZ, Bryan and Meg Nuckols of Mesa, AZ; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Cremation has already occurred and a memorial will be for family only.
