Pedestrian hit-run victim in Santa Fe is identified

-

SANTA FE — The Santa Fe police have identified the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run accident Thursday evening in front of the Albertson’s on North Guadalupe Street as Manuel Gonzales, in his 60s, of Tesuque.

A police spokesman said officers are consulting with the District Attorney’s Office about possible charges against a suspected driver, identified in a police document released Monday as Raymond Solano-Saenz, about 20 years old.

On Thursday, Santa Fe medics were first to respond to calls of a man lying unconscious on the street just after 7 p.m. Officers found a piece of a grille from a Jeep Cherokee and a trail of engine fluid, and determined the car was traveling south on Guadalupe.

An officer went to Solano-Saez’s house Thursday night and saw a Jeep Cherokee with a dent in the front hood, a broken front grille and leaking fluids.
