Country OKs tax breaks for laundry
Bernalillo County commissioners this week approved about $300,000 in tax breaks aimed at spurring development of a massive commercial laundry business in the Sawmill neighborhood.
As part of the deal, Duke City Linen LLC plans to create New Mexico’s biggest commercial laundry operation, county officials said. It could serve hotels, resorts and casinos throughout the state. It is expected to help create 45 jobs.
Commissioner Debbie O’Malley noted that the tax breaks are on equipment only and that the company will pay property taxes.
Heritage Hotels and Resorts, the state’s largest private hotel operator, is establishing Duke City Linen.
