Stocks closed mostly lower Thursday, even as big gains for blue chip banking and oil stocks helped drive the Dow Jones industrial average to a record high. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index edged lower. The Nasdaq composite slumped. Technology stocks posted the biggest losses, followed by real estate companies. High-dividend stocks also fell. Rising bond yields make those stocks less attractive to investors seeking income. Stock indexes have set records since last month’s presidenti­al election, but they’ve wobbled lately as different industries get pulled in opposite directions. Investors also eyed on the latest company earnings and deal news.
