TO SEE OR DO

HOOPS: Two other high school basketball tournaments tipped around the area Thursday, with semifinals continuing today and finals on Saturday. Capital, Mesa Vista and Santa Fe boys are playing in the Capital/Al Armendariz Tournament; Santa Fe Indian School, Española Valley, Robertson and Taos are in the Lady Braves Classic.

HIKING: Fulbright Fellow Dr. Kirt Kempter will lead a Pajarito Environmental Education Centersponsored hike Sunday through the Ojo Caliente region, culminating in the mica mine there.

Kempter, who has led educational tours to international destinations from Antarctica to the Arctic, will discuss the geology of the region in the easy, four-mile-round-trip hike.
