Brittelle, Martin Richard
1933-2016
The family of Martin Richard (Dick) Brittelle want to celebrate his life with those that knew and loved him. Dick passed away on November 15,
2016 from a valiant struggle with cancer. Dick was not going to give up easily-his love for golf and his grandchildren insured his continual struggle for life until the very end.
Martin Richard Brittelle was born to Mildred Zirhut and William Miles Brittelle Sr. in Albuquerque, New Mexico September 5, 1933. Dick graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1951 and was a recognized football star. Post high school years took Dick to Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado where he met and married Lena Tomada.
Dick joined the US Military, Marine Division in 1953 and served his country in Korea and state side until 1955. Upon completion of his service, Dick moved his family to Stillwater, Oklahoma, where he completed his undergraduate and Master’s degree at Oklahoma State University.
Dick worked for IBM and Zerox for many years. While working a Zerox he met and married Barbara Therkildson and moved to South Carolina. Dick’s career and life eventually took him to Newport Beach, California, where he spent his last 50 years. Martin enjoyed many years involved in various career avenues.
Martin Richard was preceded in death by his parents & his brother William Miles Brittelle Jr. Martin leaves a loving familyEldest daughter Cynthia Brittelle Jensen, Ogden, Utah; Jnell Brittelle Shane (Norman), Costa Mesa, California; Renee Brittelle Murshuski (Scott) Yorba Linda, California; Ten grandchildren & five great-grandchildren.
