ORLANDO, Fla. — Napheesa Collier had 22 points, five rebounds and five assists and top-ranked Connecticu­t extended its winning streak to 88 games, routing UCF 84-48 on Sunday in the American Athletic Conference opener for both teams.

Katie Lou Samuelson added 17 points and seven rebounds. The Huskies moved within two victories of matching their NCAA record of 90 straight wins and set the NCAA record with 31 straight road wins. They also extended their winning streak against unranked opponents to 100 games.

Aliyah Gregory had 18 points for the Knights (10-4). (3) BAYLOR 90, KANSAS 43: In Waco, Texas, Nina Davis and Alexis Jones each scored 16 points and the Lady Bears (13-1, 2-0 Big 12) overcame a sluggish start to beat the Jayhawks (6-7, 0-2). (4) MARYLAND 83, MINNESOTA 72: In Minneapoli­s, Brionna Jones had 27 points and 13 rebounds and the Terrapins (13-1, 1-0 Big Ten) held off the Gophers (9-6, 0-2). (5) MISSISSIPP­I STATE 74, LSU 48: In Starkville, Miss., Victoria Vivians had 24 points and 12 rebounds and Chinwe Okorie added 17 points to help the Bulldogs (150) rout the Tigers (11-3) in the SEC opener for both teams. (6) SOUTH CAROLINA 93, ALABAMA 45: In Columbia, S.C., A’ja Wilson scored 23 points while Alaina Coates had her 50th career double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Gamecocks (111, 1-0 SEC) beat the Crimson Tide (12-2, 0-1). TENNESSEE 72, (17) KENTUCKY 65: In Knoxville, Tenn., Mercedes Russell matched her season high with 22 points, Diamond DeShields added 21 after missing two games, and the Lady Vols (9-4) topped the Wildcats (9-5) in their SEC opener.
