Teachers share in podcasts

The 2016 New Mexico Teacher of the Year David Morales, a teacher at Mayfield High School, is featured on the podcast “Leading from the Classroom,” a new series featuring firsthand accounts from the state teachers of the year.

Each episode is four to seven minutes long and features a different teacher sharing a personal and poignant moment that crystallized the importance of teaching and of being a teacher. Morales talks about his father’s experiences after immigrating from Mexico and his own efforts to support immigrant students and their families.

The series is produced by the not-for-profit educational services organization Northwest Evaluation Association, in partnership with the Council of Chief State School Officers.
