THE LIGHTER SIDE

-

God bless America, and how’s everybody?

The Year in Review in Jokes concludes with some highlights.

JANUARY: The Beverly Hilton Hotel hosted the Golden Globes under terror alert after an ISIS attack on Philadelphia. Bombsniffing dogs barked at the stars all night because so many had worked in the past as drug-sniffing dogs.

JULY: The Republican Party convention kicks off at the Quicken Loans Convention Center in Cleveland, where the NBA Champion Cavaliers play. Last year, LeBron James made history by becoming the first person ever to move back to Cleveland.

SEPTEMBER: Donald Trump surged ahead of Hillary in a poll of likely voters in Ohio, Nevada, Florida and North Carolina. Libertarian Gary Johnson is at 9 percent, and Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is at 2 percent, tied with skim milk.

OCTOBER: Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton debate again, with America under siege. The East has a hurricane, the West an earthquake warning, and white women in Middle America have been asked to chill with the makeup until we can get this clown situation under control.

NOVEMBER: Election Day produced a massive voter turnout in the contest for president between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. The next day at Los Angeles International Airport, street vendors were selling Maps to the Stars Place in Line at Air Canada.
