S. Valley welcomes new clinic
Lovelace facility brings primary care closer to underserved community
The Lovelace Medical Group has opened a new health clinic in the South Valley in an effort to better serve a community that had a lack of easy access to primary care.
“We are thrilled,” said site manager Jackie Sanchez about the new clinic located near the bustling Las Estancias shopping center. “This has been a long time coming, and we’re so happy to finally have it open and meet the needs of the community.”
Sanchez said the health clinic, which focuses on primary care and OB-GYN services, will provide preventative care to more people, catching health concerns early, especially those of pregnant women.
“It’s a big deal for Lovelace to invest in the long-term future of area residents, especially those who’ve been underserved,” Sanchez said from a comfy chair in the reception area of the new clinic.
Built by Wilger Construction, Lovelace is leasing 9,000 square feet of space in a 16,000-squarefoot freestanding building that will accommodate other tenants, which are also expected to be medically focused.
Sanchez, who previously worked at a Lovelace West Side location, said people have dropped by and welcomed the business to the neighborhood.
She said people are excited about not having to travel far to get to the doctor, and established Lovelace patients have already made appointments to be treated at the site. Sanchez is still interviewing support staff for the clinic.
The Hartman + Majewski Design Group designed the space, which includes a spacious reception area, eight primary care and five obstetrical exam rooms, ultrasound room, an on-site lab and two draw stations. The clinic cost $1.5 million to build.
Lovelace Medical Group Las Estancias is located at 3900 Las Estancias Ct. SW. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The front-desk staff is bilingual in Spanish and English as are several of the providers and medical assistants.
Las Estancias will be Lovelace Medical Group’s southernmost practice in the county, Lovelace will be the anchor tenant in a medical office building scheduled to open this spring near Jefferson and Osuna NE.
