No-hold bond for alleged cop-killer

-

The man accused of fatally shooting an Albuquerque police officer during a traffic stop in October 2015 will remain in custody on a no-hold bond as he awaits trial, according to court documents filed Monday.

Davon Lymon waived his arraignment before Judge Jacqueline Flores, court staff confirmed. He did not appear in court Monday morning for the scheduled hearing. Additional hearings have not been scheduled. Lymon is charged with first-degree murder and lesser charges in connection to officer Daniel Webster’s death.

According to police, Lymon was riding a motorcycle when Webster stopped him in a Walgreens parking lot at Eubank and Central.

A federal judge found Lymon guilty in late October of illegally possessing the firearm police said was used in Webster’s death. During his federal trial on that charge, a teenage girl who was riding on the back of the motorcycle at the time of the stop said Lymon fired the deadly shots.

The case in state court was filed after Lymon’s federal charges were resolved. It is being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
