Eisen, Carolyn Pauline Mandell

Pauline Mandell Eisen, 97, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 in Auburn, CA. Carolyn was born February 14, 1919 in Albuquerque, NM, to Marie and Julius Mandell. Carolyn was adored by many friends and relatives. She had an outgoing personality and was filled with humor, compassion and love for others. She worked numerous jobs during her lifetime and was a USO volunteer during WW2. One of her favorite memories was the year she spent in London, 1964-65, while her husband, Nathan, served there as an exchange teacher. This trip enabled her to renew contact with cousins in Alsace-Lorraine, where her father, Julius, was born. Carolyn often stated that she owed her long life and good health to a daily drink of scotch, or two.

Carolyn and Nathan raised a family in Granada Hills, Ca. She is survived by her children, Marie Davis (Georgetown, Ca) and Grant Eisen (Nevada City, Ca), grandchildren, Maia and Nathan Davis, and Amelia and Julian Eisen, plus numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Joseph Mandell, sister Maxine Michaelis, and husband Nathan Eisen.
