Anna Carolina Willink Segura ("Anca") of Warren, Michigan passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017, four days after her 74th birthday. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, LeRoy O. Segura; her daughter, Elvira L. Markle and husband Matthew and her daughter, Rosemary White and husband, Vincent. Anna was born in 1943 in Den Haag (The Hague), The Netherlands. She and her family came to the United States in 1952 and lived in Virginia for five years. The family moved to New Mexico in 1957. In 1963 she graduated with honors from New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas. That’s where she met LeRoy Segura and the couple married in 1968. From this union came two daughters, Elvira and Rosemary. After that, Anna returned to school to earn two master’s degrees from the University of Michigan.

Anna and LeRoy and their daughters have lived in the Detroit, Michigan area since 1969, where Anna had a long career as a teacher of English for immigrant adults. She made a lot of watercolor paintings and she enjoyed playing the piano. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking, singing, knitting and reading. Although she left Holland when she was only nine years old, she kept in close contact with many of her Dutch relatives through the years.

Anna was a cheerful, friendly, hard-working teacher and artist who spoke several languages, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be greatly missed.
