Billman, Henry Carl "Hank"

Henry Carl "Hank" Billman, 86 passed away on Sunday, January 8th, 2017 in Albuquerque where he lived for the last 45 years of his life.

Hank was born December 11th, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri where he grew up and graduated from East High School in 1948. He is preceeded in death by his mother, Ruby Yelton and his stepfather Jim Yelton of Kansas City, Missouri, Henry Carl Billman Sr. as well as the mother of his children, Mildred Marie Billman, of Dallas, TX.

He joined the US Army in 1948. Hank served during the Korean War as a Tank Commander with the Tank Company, 31 Infantry Regiment. Hank attained the rank of Sergeant First Class before his honorable release from active duty in 1953. During his service he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat, the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, the United Nations Service Medal along with others awards and honors.

Hank will be laid to rest in the Santa Fe National Cemetery with full Military honors. This spring a celebration of his life will be held at Billy’s Pub, Albuquerque, NM where he spent many wonderful days with his oldest son, Scott, and many dear friends watching sports & sharing his wicked sense of humor.

Hank had a full life with many careers & pastimes. He was a successful businessman and entrepreneur, as well as an avid hunter, fisherman & talented furniture maker. He is survived by his children: daughter Denise Billman 61, of Liberty, Mo., daughter Nancy Iraggi 58, of Los Angeles, CA., grandson Joseph Iraggi 35, of Los Angeles, CA., son Scott Billman 53, of Albuquerque, NM., daughter-in-law Elizabeth Holmes 45, of Albuquerque, NM., and son Barry Billman 52, of Atlanta, GA.
