1936-2017 Carmen M. Perez, a resident of Tome, New Mexico, and formerly of Carrizozo, N.

M., was called home on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at home with her family by her side.

Carmen was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, N.M.

Carmen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great grandmothe­r. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, going to yard sales and was known for her amazingly delicious tortillas. She loved to dance and always be on the go. Carmen was a Homemaker, but most of all, she loved being surrounded by her family.

Carmen was devoted to her faith and will be remembered for her love, passion and strong personalit­y. We will miss and love her dearly.

Carmenwas preceded in death by her devoted husband of 55 years, Richardo B. Perez; three children, Baby John, Baby Margaret, and Chris Perez; grandson, Joey Martinez; parents, Luis Aragon and Antonia Aragon; and brotherin-law Raymond Perez Jr.

Carmen is survived by her children; Richard Perez Jr. (Katheryn), Dolores Marquez (Dennis), Sarah Perez, Gene Perez (Bernadette), Cathy Casaus (Leroy), and Carmela Martinez (PJ); 19 grandchild­ren, Melissa Dutcher, Michael Perez, Leanne Schram (Brett), Johnathan Marquez (Bronte), Phillip Perez, Anita Savedra (Jeff), Marcella Piro, Carlos Piro (Julia), Armando Piro (Taylor), Annabelle Perez (Jesse), Gene Perez Jr. (Ashley), Derek Perez (Brittany), Thomas Perez, Elias Casaus, Amanda Mendez (Nick), Alyssa and Alexis Tafoya, Angelo and Angelica Martinez; 13 great grandchild­ren, Elijah Perez, Andres Perez, Zaiden Marquez, LaRae Savedra, Azuriah Jones, Trinity and Rowdy Perez, Luke Mendez, Joseph, Francisco and Dominic Martinez, and two more on the way; siblings, Orlidia Montez, Manual Aragon, Olympia Duran, Joe Aragon, Lupe Aragon, Juan Aragon, and Ray Aragon; a special brother-in-law, Rudy Perez (Eloisa); special sister-in-law, Tina Perez; and many other loving family members. She is also survived by her special dog, "Chica Chica" and a special friend, Rosa Sifuentes.

A public viewing will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday January 22, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, N.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. A final viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Tome Catholic Cemetery.
