Gajewski, Eugene Francis Sr.

Eugene F. Gajewski, Sr. 86, of Edgewood NM, passed away on January 17, 2017. He was born at home in Whiting, Indiana on April 4 1930 & was a long-time resident of Hammond, IN, a Korean War Army Veteran, and retired from Inland Steel in 1992 after 43 years to live in New Mexico.

He is survived by his spouse, Carol (Murzyn/ Lock) of 56 years; brothers Raymond Gajewski and sister-in-law, Elaine Gajewski (Albert) of Whiting; children, Diann (Brett) Terrill , Christina Curran, Eugene Gajewski, Jr Daniel (Vesna) Gajewski; grandchildren, Shane, Nicole, Douglas, Joseph, Daniel Zach, David, Igor and Sandra; greatgrandchildren, Marvelle, Doria and Riste; goddaughter, Kimberly Carr; nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Eugene is preceded in death by parents, Albert and Helen (Jurek) Gajewski, brothers Edward and Albert Jr, sister-in-law Marlene (Ray) Gajewski and nephew Matthew Gajewski.

A rosary will be held at 9:00 a.m. and the funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 26th at Holy Child Parish in Tijeras, NM. A private burial will be held at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Eugene’s name to the Knights of Columbus Council #12981 of Holy Child Parish,the Holy Child Parish choir, or to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank East Mountain Hospice for their excellent care and support.
