Brannan, Virginia Heard
Virginia Heard Brannan, age 65, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2017 in Shoreline, Washington.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gary; son, Mark and wife, Vanessa; daughter, Joie; grandchildren, Kaedmon, and Anastasia; brothers, Charley Heard and wife, Linda, Troy Heard, and Alvin Heard and wife, Linda; brothers-in-law, Dale Brannan and wife, Beverly, and Paul Brannan and wife, Suzanne; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Troyce Alton and Myrtle Ross Heard; and parents-in-law, Glen and Nena Brannan.
She was born in 1951 in Albuquerque and graduated from Rio Grande High School, Class of 1968. Virginia attended Lubbock Christian College and received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from the University of New Mexico. She worked for Mountain Bell as an operator and service representative for 11 years. Virginia taught Pre-K at Albuquerque Christian School and kindergarten at Wherry Elementary School. She and Gary and their family moved to Florida in 1993 where she was the director of Center Academy for 15 years. They moved in 2011 to Washington state where she was a school support specialist contractor for the Army Reserve. Virginia retired in November, 2015. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. Virginia loved children and dedicated her life to educating and supporting children and youth. She was always cheerful, smiling, full of life, and encouraging others. Virginia was a bright light to all with whom she came in contact. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Friends may visit Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. Services will be held Monday, January 30, 2017, 1:30 p.m. at Mountainside Church of Christ, 12300 Indian School Rd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Virginia’s name to the Christian Student Center, 12300 Indian School Rd.
