Paul Albert Lemke passed away on the morning of January 17, 2017 following a short illness.

Paul A. Lemke,

76, was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on October 12, 1940 to Herman and Clara Lemke. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Jean; son Eric Michael; grandson Kyle Storm; sister Marianne Skeba; and brother and sister-inlaw Walter M. and Laura Lemke. He was preceded in death by his parents and son David Andrew Lemke.

Following high school graduation, he worked at Saginaw Steering Gear part-time and attended General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) part-time and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineerin­g. At about that point, he was bitten by a bug and infected with an interest in how computers could be used to run processes on assembly lines. He went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.

He and his wife moved to Albuquerqu­e in 1967, where he was employed by Sandia National Laboratori­es, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed blacksmith­ing and built a metal machine shop where he often helped friends and neighbors with their "projects".

Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Wyoming. Services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 12:00 p. m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 7701 Candelaria Road NE, Albuquerqu­e, NM 87110 with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
